Red Krewe News, 4 /
13 / 2000
As you may know by now, I update this page about every 3 months or so,
depending on my work load. To catch the latest updates of Red Krewe you
should visit the Gravitywell
site and keep track of stuff there. Currently we're up to page 14 of
issue 3, and there's a new pinup of Roberto and Nitra in the pinup galleries.
If you didn't know, I have a new book out called "Cycle" that is being
published as you read this (on Gravitywell of course) and I have a new
comic strip on the way called Los Malditos. Strips 1-3 are drawn and ready
to go.

Brandon's Ramblings
Filters anyone?
I love the newsgroups, I've been using them since 1996 to get information,
share information and to have some interesting debates that I couldn't
have face to face. The down side to newsgroups... are the people that are
in them. Don't get me wrong, there are some very nice, very educated people
on-line. But just like having a pillow case thrown over your head, the
inability on your part to see and straight out strangle your opponent gives
cowardly morons the courage to speak up like they would never dare do in
real life face to face. If you've never been on a newsgroup, I encourage
you to find one that pertains to a subject your interested in, and get
involved. Talk, discuss, share and eventually you'll get to the part I
love as much as I hate...
...FLAMEWARS!
A flamewar is when two or more people square off and bicker, bemoan, argue
and throw mud at each other. Usually a flamewar involves one or two people
squared off against the entirety of the regular posters of the NG (newsgroup).
And although it sounds absolutely insane, I encourage you to experience
being that one unlucky person at least once in your life. Why might you
ask? Because that will help teach you the truths about some people. If
you ever speak in anger, or have an opinion which you strongly believe
in, trust me, you'll be that one person sooner or later. It's best to learn
by oneself, but I will help you out with this one piece of advice.
Territory.
A newsgroup is a public place, much like a park. No one owns it, and everyone
has the right to play there. However, in some newsgroups, the regular posters
have taken the belief that they own the group simply because they post
to it every day. And if you don't post there everyday and everyone knows
you by your first name, you are a stranger, and you cannot post your opinion
because you do not have the right to speak. You may not question their
tactics. You may not suggest that they are off topic or wrong. You are
simply wrong because you have walked into their territory. When you encounter
this attitude, and trust me you will, take a deep breath, collect your
thoughts, and WHOOP THEIR ASSES LIKE A RED HEADED STEP CHILD!
Till next time,
