Never one to snarl or growl, Halfback is the quietest member of the group,
but by no means the weakest. Physically he's quite strong, and when he
chooses to speak his mind its obvious that he has many other strengths as well.
Halfback is usually withdrawn and the last to speak in any conversation if at all.
Nitra suspects he has reasons to be so quiet, but she has yet to get him to talk. If anyone knows his secrets, its Charlemange. The two frequently disappear to talk for a while, but no one else knows what they talk about.
Like most slaves, he bears the marks of many whippings, more than most
in fact. But unlike most slaves, his fur never grows back, nor does he scar.
What does happen is his skin is replaced by a silvery skin that makes him look mangy,
and makes most others keep their distance from him. More than a few have asked him
why his body does that, the only reply they get is back turned to them and a barely
hidden smile.
