The French Quarter is the oldest and most well preserved section of New
Orleans. It spans about thirteen city blocks, and is still filled with the fine homes that made it so beautiful a century ago.
The French Quarter got its name because the
French aristocrats made this their area after the Louisiana purchase, and
did well to keep the Americans out. its nestled between Canal Street and
Esplanade Avenue and features many historic houses, museums, the famous
Jackson Square as well as the lewd and infamous Bourbon street. Night clubs,
and vodoo houses. Anything else you can imagine that's legal, is found
here including prostitution. |
